Curriculum Development on Resource Recovery and Reuse

Development of training materials and facilitator guidelines for University curriculum on Business Development in Resource Recovery and Safe Reuse (RRR)

With this project seecon transforms the findings from research on Resource Recovery and safe Reuse (RRR) business cases around the world into training materials for university curricula. The modules range from different topics on market analysis, legal and social aspects, over technical options for reuse all the way to practical lessons on financial planning and operational management of RRR businesses. Tabligle examples of business cases or insights into the investment climate in various countries are combined with hands-on exercises that make up for a comprehensive set of innovative training materials for university lecturers.

The materials have been designed to enable Msc. level students and young entrepreneurs to identify business opportunities and develop RRR business models, based on an in-depth understanding of RRR approaches and the analysis of the market context and enabling environment.

Under this project seecon:

  • Developed training packages for semester-long university courses, comprising facilitator guides, presentations, hands-on exercises and hand-outs.
  • Trained lecturers from more than 15 universities and organized a 10-day intensive course for students and RRR practitioners/young entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka to test and improve the course materials and enable lecturers to apply them.
