We were approached by the German Toilet Organization e.V. to address a critical challenge: the global WASH sector struggles with fragmented knowledge and inconsistent access to vital information. Imagine a field worker in a remote crisis zone, desperately searching for the right sanitation solution while facing time constraints and unreliable internet. The lack of a central, easily navigable hub costs lives, wastes resources, and slows down the vital aid that communities desperately need. The WASH Hub was born from this urgent need and our main objectives are to centralize vital information, streamline access for diverse users (from field workers to researchers), facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration, and ultimately improve the effectiveness of WASH interventions worldwide.
The WASH Hub is a coordinated global sector go-to-point for humanitarian WASH practitioners providing easy access to structured and curated sector knowledge, resources, and tools. It also provides tailored personal, and AI powered support and hosts an active community of WASH practitioners for learning and exchange. The WASH Hub is a joint sector effort of Global WASH Cluster members and an initiative of the WASH Roadmap.

Explorer and discover
- We conducted market assessments, analyzed existing WASH business models, and performed impact assessments to ensure the Hub met the needs of the sector.
Co-create and design
- We managed stakeholder platforms to ensure effective co-creation, developed strategies and action plans, designed innovative business models, and implemented the project prototype.
Empower
- We developed training materials, provided coaching and facilitated organizational change management to ensure effective knowledge adoption.
Reach and connect
- We created and disseminated toolboxes, publications, and videos, and organized workshops and events to build awareness and engagement.
