Circular sanitation models are not yet legally recognized in Switzerland. The centralized management of wastewater and the industrial input of fertilizers in agriculture lead to an unsustainable, separate approach to two actually complementary systems. This exacerbates the scarcity of both water and fertilizers. Additionally, nutrients accumulate in water bodies and ecosystems.

VaLoo makes Swiss wastewater management fit for the future and paves the way for circular technologies. VaLoo closes the loop between wastewater management and agriculture and promotes a sustainable resource management. VaLoos pioneer funding ends in 2024. VaLoo wants now to develop from a pilot project implementer to a case-based designer of cantonal and national policies. Our goal is to establish VaLoo in the medium and long term as THE voice for circular sanitation systems in Switzerland and to create the national legal basis for effective and scalable circular systems.

We at seecon support VaLoo in the process of fundraising, strategy and project development, contributing our many years of international experience in the management of projects relating to circular sanitation systems. We support this project by carrying out the following activities:

We support VaLoo in the strategy process by carefully examining its business model and key activities. Through our process structuring, we also strive to achieve predictability through a systemic multi-year approach.
