Inefficient and unsustainable lighting practices can place an unnecessary burden on municipal budgets and disrupt the natural day-night rhythm of people, animals, and plants. While there are legal frameworks and enforcement guidelines available to municipalities, they often lack the human and time resources needed to engage deeply with the topic.
With the support of Jurapark Aargau, a physical workshop was held in Linn (Bözberg), where five Jurapark municipalities were sensitized to the issue of light pollution. During the workshop, they developed sustainable measures for improved lighting management. The workshop was based on the specially developed “Lichttoolbox” (Light Toolbox), which helps municipalities systematically design and implement a lighting strategy tailored to their needs.
