Simon is our project management specialist, working for the promotion of socially inclusive innovation, circular economy entrepreneurship and key stakeholder involvement in the WASH and waste management sector.
Since 2018, Simon designs and facilitates projects as well as capacity building workshops together with seecon. He develops customized training activities for organizations who are interested in improving the sustainability of waste and resource management systems all around the globe.
Simon has been working as a project manager and research associate in the water and sanitation sector since 2014. Over the course of his professional career, he assisted worker’s cooperatives in Argentina, accompanied low-income housing entrepreneurs in Mexico, supported innovators of the Colombian rural education sector and coached circular economy start-ups in Peru. He has worked with and for organizations such as the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, (Eawag, Switzerland), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC, Switzerland), the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM, México), the Institute for the Promotion of Sustainable Development (IPES, Peru), as well as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP, Colombia).
Simon holds an MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Berne, where he majored in “Anthropology of Transnationalism and the State” and is proficient in German, English, Spanish, and French.
